Congratulations on pursuing your MBA; along with your accounting background you will probably bring a strong bottom line approach to HR, which is an attractive combination for CEO's.
Regarding your experience, if your 15 years experience are in HR at companies where HR is valued, with expertise in high demand HR functional areas (recruiting, compensation, OE and HRIS/technology), you should be qualified for a managerial level role. You may not necessarily have managed/supervised people before, but certainly must have those competencies.
